Kerja? Sampai bila pun takkan abis!

These past few weeks, especially after returning from my long Hari Ray break has been quite stressful for me.  Until to date I am not able to stabilized my work load. Emails, HRAPs, eSLAs, ad-hoc cases, pending cases, old cases, new cases, covering colleagues cases, just to name a few....

Kerja memang tak akan habis punya. I am mentally stressed.

I pray Allah beri keberkatan dan kekuatan untuk aku menjalankan tugas harian, Amin.

Episode 15

Right in the middle of this episode, a sentence pop out, "beberapa tahun kemudian" which means several years later.....and my question is why after all this while, being a pilot, come from a rich family, Am and his family took a looong time to visit Ain in Australia?

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I have not read the book and excuse me, did the script writer snip here and there?

Episode 14

So I have reached episode 14 of Adam dan Hawa.  Enjoy watching every minute of the drama.  However up to this point I would like to bring up 2 issues:

1) Didn't Ain got accepted to Murdoch University?  But why in this episode she said she was supposed to go for student registration at Curtin University?

2) Why is Ain's mother being so secretive of not telling Ain that her in-laws have been keeping in touch? They have.

Pelik kan?

A New Addiction

There are times when we get hooked with a new TV drama or soap opera that you will go through all the hassle to search an online episode. That's what happened to me last week.

When I was in University 2 decades ago, I was hooked on Days of Our Lives. Into my second semester and semesters after that, I was smart and arranged all my classes so that it will not coincide with any of DOL episodes. "Like sand through the hour glass so are the days of our lives", that's the opening credit. Some of my favorite characters were Roman Brady, Marlena, Carly and Bo Brady....Did you know that DOL first went on air in 1965? If my memory serves me right it was on NBC 1-2 pm, 5 days a week. Miss Karen Seeley, you are responsible injecting this addiction in me.

Currently, there is a new Malay TV drama series airing on Astro Mustika HD Channel 134. It was kindda disappointing that you need to subscribe to that particular package in order to view it. Then what's the whole point of subscribing to Astro Beyond when you can't benefit from all the HD channels? Duh?!?

The book turned into TV drama consist of 80 episodes has been on air for the last 2 weeks. I wasn't  interested but after watching the 11 minutes trailer on you tube, hmmm pretty interesting. So I decided to check out the 1st episode, then the 2nd and the 3rd. Then suddenly I was miserable..why? I've been drugged. I wanna watch more of it. I have never seen Aaron Aziz quiet as what his character as Adam. I am not a sucker for Malay drama but somehow this one hit me like a tonnes of brick wall! For the 11 minutes trailer, please click here http://youtu.be/SXXpp_DNI4c (Credit to Astro and You Tube.)

I did not want to get my hopes high like what I experienced with Lagenda Budak Setan. I read all three books but when it turned into a movie a year later and soon after followed by a TV drama series it did not capture the sense of continuity as was in the novel. They chopped out so many important scenes and they alter the story line here and there. That's what I hated the most of novel turn into TV drama series.

It has been an expedition for me this past few days locating the right website which has all the 8 episodes aired so far. Phew, finally, alhamdulillah I found what I was looking for. For those who are following the drama, this is the best website to follow, http://www.ceritamaster.com/2012/08/adam-hawa-full-episod-movies.html (Credit to Cerita Master, Astro and You Tube)

Adam and Hawa adapted from a novel by Aisya Sofea published 2-3 years ago is a story of 20 year old Ain Hawani who met Adam Mukhriz or Am. Am who is a pilot, playboy and good looking fellow was head over heels with Ain. Ain who has bigger plans for her future try to resist the temptation but was caught in close proximity with Am. What disappoint her the most was Am's silence, and acceptance to the unfortunate incident. He did not make any attempt to explain that the incident could be a set up. Ain was at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Literally they were force into marriage to cover embarrassment to both families. Soon after, Ain received an offer to further her studies in Australia. She left her family, friends and so call husband, Am, behind....to be continued.

From what I read, the writer, Aisya Sofea hand picked the actors for the drama parts. I like that.  The writer would be the best person to select quality actor/actress that able to build, expand and appreciate each character.

This time, I have not read the novel but I was told the drama has been very consistent with the novel story line. The temptation is so strong for me that at times I wanna dash to the the bookstore to get a copy of the novel. Hey, 80 episodes, I don't think I have the patience. What's that,....5 half an hour episodes, 5 days a week, it will come up to 16 weeks,mmmmm......4 months? Oh no.....I must buy the book.

My favourite line in Adam dan Hawa:

Cikgu Zawiyah : "Abis madu sepah dibuang."
Am : Ada madu free pun belum tentu lebah ni nak tau! Lebah ni ada taste la."

Have a productive week a head guys.

Shakira's Birthday

Birthdays are fun.  I was fortune to celebrate many of them when I was growing up.

Every year my (late) mom organized birthday party. Well most of the guest were my parents acquaintances who brought their kids to the party.  Then I had my cousins, my aunts, uncle, as well as grand parents there. My parents rented tables, chairs, see saw, swings, and slides and there will be games such as musical chairs and search for hidden treasure. It was awesome and lavishly organized.

I have in my keeps pictures of my (late) mother's birthday party.  It was so cool. Not so sure how old she was then. Might be in her teens. Her birthday cake looks more like a wedding cake. 2 tier,...hand crafted water melon basket.....woooo. They dance all night with their friends. You can see how she glowed. She is so beautiful. Yeah, all children will say that about their mom! Hahaha.....I have pictures I wanted to upload into my blog but my printer broke down. I will upload it soon as it is repaired.

But, when I had kids of my own, we settled for a simple yet memorable party or I rather call it a gathering. No point of over spending. Ustaz Zain will start with doa selamat (say grace) and thanked to God for all the kindness he bestowed upon all of us. Thank you Ustaz.

06-Jul-2012 - Shakira's 10th Birthday

It was small gathering at Shakira's religious class. She was soooo happy when she saw her birthday cake with Avril Lavigne on it. She is soooo into Avril. She once said, "Mommy, I know one French word, its Avril which means April!" Hahaha.... I prepared tuna sandwich, egg mayo sandwich, water melon, spring roll and bought 80 pieces of satay. Habis semua licin. We gave out cup cakes to our guests.

06-Jul-2011 - Shakira's 9th Birthday

This birthday party also at the same location happened last year.  At the time she was head over heels with Thinkerbell and posse. Unfortunately the cake wasn't what expected it to turn out.  I was disappointed with the end results. There was a tear on the edible image. Do not want to grumble about it. It was a last minute decision and I dealt with the consequences. Any how, Ustaz from Johan Academy was also generous enough to sponsor curry puff and samosa.

Happy Birthday Shakira.
Happy Birthday Shakira.
Jadi anak yang soleh.....

Bobby Farrell - BONEY M

The original Boney M - Liz Mitchell, Maizie Williams, Bobby Farrell and Marcia Barrett.

So much being said about this Boney M front man.  Reports mentioned his voice wasn't suited for studio recording but he sings during most live performances. The male voice in their albums belongs to Frank Farian, who is a German music producer who founded Boney M. Whatever it is, I enjoy watching Bobby's performances either live or lip sync. Does that matter? Well, apparently it does not to me! Most artist in the 70's lip sync when they performed live. Yeah, they do. There are so many combination of dancing styles that he brought into his performances which are a head of his time.  A few artist adopted to Bobby's style. Try to identify them. Amongst all of Boney M's video on You Tube, I enjoyed watching Sunny. Please enjoy!

On my personal observation, Bobby displayed a charismatic and exciting dance moves. In Sunny, see how both Liz Mitchell and Bobby flirt with each other. It also happened in a few other videos but ONLY when they performed to this song.

When the group broke up in 1986, both Liz and Bobby formed their own Boney-M with new back up singers. But it does not feel the same. The original Boney-M is still and always be the best.

Bobby started performing with Boney M in 1976 until to his death on 30 Dec 2010. He died while he was on tour in St. Petersburg.

Rest in Peace, Bobby. You may not know me but I grew up listening to you and Boney M.
