Our House

Yes! We have shifted to ‘Our House’. A lot of thing to do around the house like packing, cleaning, installation, etc etc etc. It took one week to adjust ourselves with our new surroundings. No more screeching sound of motorbike at 2 am. No drag racing outside. No more being furious with non-civic minded stranger park their car in front of our house. No more exhaust dust coming from heavy vehicle loading and unloading at Digital Mall.

A new start. A fresh start..........................

You'll never walk alone.

This morning my hubby walked to the LRT station from our house. Marah sangat dengan I la tu sampai sanggup berjalan kaki.

This is how it all started.

We are in the midst of shifting to our new (oh well not so new…) house in Puchong. It’s in a residential area with more greeneries compare to where we are currently staying in PJ. Like my dad said, “Sec 14 is not conducive anymore for my grand children to grow!”

Several years back we (my hubby and I) surveyed around for our first house. With our limited budget we have taken all aspects into consideration when we purchased our dream house in Puchong. Built up of the house is small but it has a spacious land for future renovations. We have no intention of moving in until much later.

The Section 14 house is my dad’s even though he no longer reside there since his retirement in 1994. So I have been maintaining the house until I got married….then my hubby moved in….and later had 2 kids plus a domestic helper.

I know somehow, one day, my dad will want to sell his Section 14 house and that ‘one day” finally arrived.

Ever since my father voiced out his intention to sell his Sec 14 house, both my hubby and myself felt the pressure to do something about our Puchong house. I kept convincing myself the move will do good and it’s like making a fresh start in life. I know I can, I know I can, I know I can.

So, since November 2006 we have been going back and forth to Puchong every weekend to start work on ‘our house’. I am truly grateful to my father-in-law who willingly helped us out with all renovation works. I salute my 68 year old father-in-law whom without his energy and strength the house will never be ready today. His craftsmanship impresses all of us.

I did a lot of interior painting and the cooking of course! I worked hard. We worked hard; all of us work hard to make ’our house’ a paradise. Finally, we set a date for the shift-December 15, 2007!

Coming back to the sulking issue right in the beginning of my opening……

Yesterday my hubby called and due to this weekend house shift I reminded him to clear some old T-shirts which occupied our chest drawer (all 5 drawers!!). I guess no longer ours….it’s his now. In fact I told him his working attire (kemeja and slack) dah occupy ¾ of our new closet in Puchong. Mana nak store baju-baju yang lain?

He got very offended and said, ”For God’s sake tak kan you nak I get rid of my working clothes?”

If he insists on keeping all his T-shirts….so be it. What upsets me the most was when he said, “Hello? By the way, siapa yang bayar for the new closet?” I cried. He said it’s such a waste kalau buang baju which I did not asked him to do so in the first place. He could give it away to the needy. Just untuk sakitkan hati dia…I answered that I’ll be throwing all of my old baju kurung when he asked me what I am going to do with them. We hung up.

After that we sms each other expressing our dissatisfaction towards each other’s attitude.

I rasa macam diri I ni menumpang pulak…..but…its not a surprise coming from him. I am very disappointed by his actions. I am his wife bukannya orang lain. Sampai hati dia cakap macam tu pada I. I rasa as an adult kita kena fikir dulu sebelum cakap……inilah akibatnya……sebab mulut badan binasa. I should be extra careful with the words I select whenever starting a conversation with him. Otherwise, memakan diri I sendiri!

In my humble opinion (if it really matters to him), he jumped to conclusion with my remarks about the closet full with his clothes.

Well it ended that way…..

………………..and I didn’t see him until this morning (he came back late last night).

On normal mornings, I would drop him off close to the LRT station but this morning he decided to walk………..

Chicken King Batu Gajah dah tutup ke?

Last Saturday we went back to my hometown in Parit, Perak. We told the kids it’s ‘Paris’ not that we are embarrassed by the name Parit, but people seems don’t know where the hell is Parit. They know where Batu Gajah, or Bota or Seri Iskandar but not Parit. Parit is right in the middle between these towns. They would either give a blank face (Huh, Parit???) or a grin. Before highway existed, travelers will definitely pass through Parit to go to Lumut/Teluk Batik…. I still get people who made fun of that name (Parit = Longkang) but it’s better than Batang Berjuntai, right? (…that is if you have a dirty mind).

Anyway the journey was a breeze as usual. Thanks kutuk…..though I don’t quite approved of your 150kmp driving!!!! Don’t think I didn’t see it!

We reached Batu Gajah and we passed this familiar row of shop houses (on the right hand side slightly after the busiest traffic light in Batu Gajah….i think that could be the only traffic light in Batu Gajah. Sorry kalau I salah.)where Chicken King is located. Chicken King ni macam KFC jugak tapi ada kelainan tersendiri. My hubby and I were quite surprised to see Chicken King dah tutup. Not that it is very important, or anything like….i’m dead without Chicken King’s chicken but that place will always have a place in our heart.

Each and every time balik kampong, we will passed Chicken King and my hubby will always pass the same remark,

Hubby said, “Chicken King……” in a mono tone voice and he smiles.
I replied, “ump….” And look at him. Deep down we both knew what we were thinking off.

Frankly speaking I never heard of Chicken King before until that of August 24, 2002. My confinement period ended a few days before and today my hubby came back to Parit. What other better way to spend our time together, alone, cruising and just let where our wheels takes us. When we arrived in Batu Gajah (about 20 minutes drive from Parit), and just right after Batu Gajah Golf Club, we decided to stop somewhere to eat. That’s when we saw Chicken King. Initially, I was torn between KFC and Chicken King (they are next door to each other).

Hubby said, “Jom try Chicken King! “ (excited)
I said, “Ye ke? Tak pernah dengar pun before this. Sedapke?” (a bit hesitant…imagining the taste to KFC already in my mouth)
Hubby said, “Jom kita try je……”
I said “ok la”

There were not many people. I couldn’t care less of the ambience. Just want to spend time with my hubby. So we ate and talk and ate and talk of course about our new adorable baby girl, Shakira…..and talk about how I crave for cigarettes after almost fasting from it for about a year! (a month before planning to get pregnant, plus 41 weeks of pregnancy period, plus 44 days of confinement days).

Time passed and we enjoyed the quality time we spent there that day. Hubby was happy (with his food) and I was happy with my cigarette (later outside). It’s a win-win situation.

So that is the reason when Chicken King closed down in Batu Gajah we were a bit disappointed. We’re not quite sure why they closed down. Could be due to stiff competition or losing its popularity or for all we know they might have shifted to another bigger location! Orang Batu Gajah…….any idea?

The feeling tu macam, how ex-Malaysian students felt dearly when they heard that Malaysian Hall in London closed its doors a few years back. To me macam tu lah I rasa bila nampak Chicken King Batu Gajah dah tutup.

I foresee whenever we will pass the vacant lot of Chicken King, cerita Chicken King tutup will definitely come out and both of us will smile and recall that day we once dated there! Thank you Chicken King!

Greetings!

This is my first ever attempt nak buat blog sendiri. Always baca orang punya but now i've created my own diary la kiranya ni. Masa i sekolah rendah up to menengah...rajin jugak tulis2 diary ni. Cerita kena marah dengan mom la, bergaduh dengan my sis la.....but most of all bila dah ada crush on a guy...diary tu la tempat you meluahkan perasaan yang frust, happy melambung2, berdebar2, dan segalanya. Ha!Ha!Ha! Lepas tu I would hide the diary so no one pun boleh tahu mana I sorok diary tu. Selalunya bawah bantal....stupidkan? Surely both my parents and sis must have enjoyed every minute of my juicy diary. I tahu u all pernah baca diary I kan (referring to you mom, dad and sis)?

Anyway, jemput2la baca sambil hiburkan hati bila enter this blog.
